Fault detecting system

Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a communication amount for detecting a fault generating state and to decrease processing means for the detection by providing a means to transmit a working state informing signal, which is generated in a prescribed cycle, to a network at a station to be managed. CONSTITUTION: A working state informing signal transmitting means 20 in a station 13 to be managed transmits the working state informing signal, which is generated in a certain prescribed cycle, to a network 11. A working state informing signal monitoring means 16 in a managing station 2 monitors the working state informing signal from the station 13 to be managed and when no working state informing signal is detected in the cycle, it is decided that a fault is generated at the station 13 to be managed or at the network 11 to the station 13 to be managed. Thus, since a working state information request signal to be transmitted from the managing station 12 to the station 13 to be managed is unnecessitated, the information amount for fault detection occupying the network 11 is reduced by half.
